Yeah, this feels really great. After we had a successful homologation process by the beginning of the month, the last two weeks have been intense and technically fruitful as well: We have filled the holes in hard- and software the user could have stepped into befor. Now the car feels easy to drive to anybody and I don't know where you could go wrong in operating it. No malfunction you could provoke, nothing you can do to harm the drive train, battery pack or any other part of the system (excluding any smashings with a hammer of course). It is our intention to make the car move and react to you as befor but with a lot less emissions and some extra power. This is accomplished.
We are also able to measure the energy consumption. It amounts to about 20 kWh of electricity per 100 km if you go purely electric. In hybrid 4x4 mode this drops to 10-15 kWh additional to 2.2 to 3.3 liters of gasoline per 100 km.
So there are only two major open tasks on the list. They are scheduled to be terminated end of june and the production of the preseries can actually start this summer as planned.
I am looking forward to do more testing and more keeping you updated through this blog.
